The image above is of the star-forming region known as NGC 6729 and is the latest image released from the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope.
At a distance of only about 400 light years, NGC 6729 is part of one of the closest stellar nurseries to the Earth. It is located in the southern constellation of Corona Australis.
