According to Wikipedia the 2011 census of India, the population of Delhi is 16,753,235. It has an astonishing population density was 11,297 persons per km².

Light pollution is a recognized problem there and the Times of India has run numerous articles on it (like this one). There is an effort to fight light pollution and protect the night skies there.  For more on that and to learn about the Great Indian Star Count visit

Next on this world tour of city lights from space we head to China.
